Legends - Bob Marley Review
Legends - Bob Marley
Being a lover of reggae music, and a true fan of Bob Marley, I would definitely recommend this album to anyone who's new to reggae or anyone who's interested in listening to the sound of Bob Marley. Though a lot of reggae songs can be credited to the late great Bob Marley, this album samples most of his well-known and well-loved songs such as "Buffalo Soldier", "No Woman, No Cry" and the much-revived "Waiting In Vain".
More often than not reggae music is associated with summer and the laid-back beach lifestyle. But it shouldn't stop at that. Listening carefully to the songs in this album will give one an idea why Bob Marley can be considered a legend in his own right. Some of the songs speak about optimism and positivity - "Don't worry about a thing, cause every little thing will be alright" (from Three Little Birds") and "Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds" (from Redemption Song) -while some speak about unity and faith "One love, one heart, let's get together and feel alright / One Love, One Heart, Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel alright". (from One Love). Of course there's the hopelessly romantic line "It's your love that I'm waiting on / It's my love that you're running from" (from Waiting In Vain) for all those who prefer romantic and sentimental songs.
Overall, I personally recommend this album to any music lover out there. Aside from the laid-back rhythm, the good vibes and positive messages in the songs will surely inspire anyone and will brighten any gloomy day.
